Even before there was a call for the electronic medical record, Fayetteville Woman’s Care was well on the road to converting all of our paper charts to electronic medical records. In fact, we’ve managed to store thousands upon thousands of records digitally and we’re almost done. Our storage shelves are becoming empty! Now, all new records are created electronically. We’ve been electronic since 2007.
As a new patient, you can take advantage our technology advancements by completing your medical history through our Patient Portal. This simple process allows you, at your convenience, to sign in securely and answer questions about your medical history. Once you finish, your medical history is immediately available for review by our doctors and nurses. Plus, you will discover that this saves you time on your first visit.
We did a large amount of research to find a program that meets our needs and is easy for our patients to use. We chose an American-based program called digiChart®, an integrated, Web-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Because digiChart’s applications are completely Web-based, providers and staff can manage information from anywhere they can access the Internet. digiChart houses its applications in a secure, disaster-proof configuration, backs up information continuously and archives it indefinitely. Your medical information is safe and secure.
Our doctors and staff have discovered that this program enhances our services, especially when our doctors are on-call. If you call Fayetteville Woman’s Care after office hours, the on-call doctor can still securely see your medical record and be better able to answer your questions and concerns.
Behind the scenes, digiChart allows our practice to run seamlessly. All phone calls, tasks and alerts are easily documented and routed to the appropriate person for follow-up.
